I've seen the first two eps, and read the summerys for the rest of the eps. And I agree, very off story and very bad. I don't even find it well acted, which makes the changes jar even more.
Jack is a jerk, so's Ty, and Amy, ugh, just annoys me.

I love her book self. Not the new special editions, but I ignore those anyway.
And I don't think Ty is a nice jerk, I think his character is was too cliched.
Can I ask why you don't like Amy's book self though? Cause I find that odd lol

the show is really bad acted. But if you don't think of it as Heartlands you like the characters and story line more! First time i watched it i was thinking how it was so different from the book and it sucked! But i try to forget what it is based on and then it gets better!
But i think I should make a new one and keep it closer to the book! lol And better actors! lol

i personally like both book and show even though they are different. There are a lot of connections and a lot of the plots are in the show. for example boxer the one who's owner has alsemiers and then the horse that was afraid of water, forgot his name right now! Although it is very different character wise i dont think about the books when i watch the show. I get into the plot of the episode. i personally love Ty, at first he was kinda weird and i guess a bit of a jerk but as time goes by his good guy quality really comes into place. The other thing is that the Ty in the book and the Ty is the show are so different. in the show he's a probation kid so of course he's going to be different personality wise but as time passes you see him really changing (in my opinion0 and he sort of becomes a little like the Ty in the book. No where as good as the one in the books but he is still prettty decent. I love Amy in the books 1-20 of course, i thought her character and personality was amazing. I think the Amy in the show is a bit weird but at the same time she s very much alike to the one in the book because she's alwasy afraid to get close to people and stuff and in the book she was afraid to get close to Ty because it would change everything....so she thought! this is just my opinion! and the writers have to add more plots because there arent enough books to keep makeing new seasons! i think that some of the additional episodes that were not in the book were not the greatest becaise it focused more on other things and not horses but im hoping that the new season will have more horses!

i sooo agree. They are both really good in their own ways. I like Ty in both as they are sort of extremes. I havn't seen many yet. Only the first 3 but they seem good. I can't wait to see more!

It's ok. I watch every show and just try not to think how much it isn't like the books.

Really, though, it is a great show. Yeah, its nothing like the books but the feelings of the characters are the same. Sure they changed backgrounds and a bit a personaliies but when it comes down to it the way the characters feel about each other are the same.
