There's a new special edition Heartland book coming out in October sometime (in the States, don't know about the UK yet) its called 'A Winter's Gift'. Here's the link for it on the Barnes and Noble website where you can read the summery http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780439925617&itm=34

I don't know about anyone else but after reading the summery for it I'm really worried its going to be as bad or maybe even worse than Beyond the Horizon was. It sounds like there's going to be even more drastic changes to our beloved characters, and even possibly to Heartland itself!

Anyone else wish she'd left the series at 'Always There'? Then we could all be happy knowing Amy would go to college become a great vet, work at Heartland for the rest of her life, marry Ty and have babies with him. There would never be Will, Amy would never turn in to a girl we don't like nearly so much and Amy and Ty would always be happy with each other. Thats how it all goes in my fantasy!

I dont even think I want ot read it after reading the summary. I agree Heartland is officially ruined. Who wants to read about Amy moaning anyway? Its just going to be like BTH "oh poor me everything has changed blah blah blah" As you can see I dont like the new books or the new Amy one bit.

Same here. I know that as much as I don't want to read it because I know its going to be bad and even more will have changed, I know that curiosity will get the best of me and I'll read it. But If its as bad as I'm thinking its going to be, as in at least as bad as BtH, then that will be it. I won't be able to take any more. I love Heartland and Amy in the first 20 books but I really hate them in BtH. I'm sure there are some people who think this book will be better but I really don't. I mean just from the bit in the summery about Amy 'being more confident and independant than ever' makes me very, very nervous. I hated her in BtH and I think she's going to be even worse in this.

BtH and this one can't change how I feel about the first 20 books though, they will always be one of my most favourite series. BtH and AWG don't count as a part of that series. The characters are too different to be the same people.

I don't want to read it, but again like everyone else. curiosity will get the best of me. what you all say is unfortunatly true. i might even convince myself to read the first 20 over and over again until BTH is officially blocked out of my head. lol. but i know it wont work.

I'm from Germany and although we have the Heartland books from 1-18 (and they are all on my board) I haven't read them all. The last book I read was the 9th but I have summerholidays and can read them all. I really love these books even though I'm not through the series.

But I think you know that there are more books in France then in our countries? They have Heartland books from 1-28 and (I have French at school) one of these books (the 22th) is called 'Au-delà de l'horizon' and this is exactly the same as Beyond the Horizon.

This is the summary:
Loin de Heartland, Laura a rencontré Will, un passionné de chevaux... Les retrouvailles avec Ted s'annoncent donc plus difficiles que prévu. Celui-ci est d'ailleurs très distant et prend des initiatives qui ne sont pas du goût de la jeune fille, surtout quand il s'agit de Sundance ! En plus, une insupportable peste lui tourne autour ! De quoi vraiment agacer Laura qui comprend que la vie à Heartland ne sera plus jamais la même...

(I can try to translate, if you want to)
And you have to know that Amy's called Laura in France

So, I think I've found the French version to A Winter's Gift but I'm not sure: 24: L'Amour n'est pas aveugle! (= Love is not blind)

Ted=Ty

So, I think this is enough, I'm so tired (In Germany it is nearly 1 am)...

And I hope you can understand my English (it would be nice if you could correct the bad mistakes but only if you fancy it (Huh? I don't think this is correct Wink )
