Heartland Series
By: Alyssa McIntyre

Heartland Series is by Lauren Brooke. I picked this series because I like horses and this whole series is about horses.

Heartland has 20 books and 3 Special Editions. The main characters, who are in every book, are Amy, her sister Lou, their Grandpa, and Ty the stable hand.  Most of the book is at Heartland a horse farm where Amy lives. At Heartland they help abused or hurt horses gain trust again. They also take away fears of horses, such as going into trailers or riding near traffic. This book is realistic fiction; I’ve read that there are real places like Heartland. My favorite book is probably A Holiday Memory, a Special Edition. It’s about Amy remembering her last Christmas with her mom. When you read it you learn more about her mom, then you knew before. Lauren Brooke has also written the Chestnut Hill series, which has 6 books so far.

I like Heartland because it’s all about horses and I love horses. The series is about Amy managing Heartland, while getting over her grief after her mom dies in a car accident. This series is very good, because it had everything, happy parts, funny parts, and sad parts.

Wow, this is awesome !

I'd try some mention of the main topics (restoration, reflection, family, tragedy, human relationships, home, blah, blah, blah), a bit about a character or two, like Amy's situation with her parents and siblings. A favourite quote ? If you look on this site there is more about Books 20+. Some key events. Who would you recommend it to and why ? Why do you think this series is so popular. A little about the author, and where the book is based and read. Compare it to some real place, explain the methods. Say why you think the combination of horses and people work..

etc,,...etc,,,...

Note: This is all the criticisms I got from my last review.

Don't worry, I'm not THAT smart..,,!

Heartland Series

Heartland Series is by Lauren Brooke. I picked this series because I like horses and this whole series is about horses.

Heartland has 20 books and 4 Special Editions. The main characters, who are in every book, are Amy, her sister Lou, their Grandpa, and Ty the stable hand.  Another important character is Amy’s father. He left when Amy was 4 and Lou was 11. After Lou arrives she gets in touch with him and Amy, Lou and their dad reconnect. Most of the book is at Heartland a horse farm where Amy lives. At Heartland they help abused or hurt horses gain trust again. They also take away fears of horses, such as going into trailers or riding near traffic. This book is realistic fiction; I’ve read that there are real places like Heartland, that help abused horses. My favorite book is probably A Holiday Memory, a Special Edition. It’s about Amy remembering her last Christmas with her mom. When you read it you learn more about her mom, then you knew before. Lauren Brooke has also written the Chestnut Hill series, which has 6 books so far.  My favorite part of any of the books is in Come What May when Melody has a filly. The family had been having trouble and getting into fights, when Melody’s foal gets stuck they have to work together to get it out alive.

I would recommend Heartland to people who like horses, or animals in general, especially if don’t actually own a horse. It’s a great way to learn about horses, and some of their language. A big part of Heartland is that to gain the horses trust they use different methods than a lot of horse owners. They are incredibly patient and never hurt the horses. My favorite thing about the series is how Amy and Ty bond with the horses, even if it’s just to get over a trailer fear, they hate to see them go, but they know that that’s what Heartland is all about. Lauren Brooke ends the series when Amy is 18, she has to decide weather to go to college or stay at Heartland. She finds out that with her SAT scores she could go to a prevet program at Virginia Tech. Except she’s not sure if she wants to leave Heartland. I hate to see the series end, so I am glad there are 4 Special Editions and Chestnut Hill to read.
