The Champion Part 8

Bess charged towards the stabledoor which Chloe had opened, throwing Chloe onto the floor. Chloe looked up as Bess galloped away, she groaned before lying back down on the cold hard floor, then blackness.

Hospital

Chloe lay asleep in a hospital bed, banadages all over her, her mum and dad sat next to her waiting for her to wake up. Her mum was holding onto one of Chloe's hands, tears rolling down her cheeks, her father hugging her mum. The doctor came in to check on her. She looked at notes of her patience, looking at her parents.
"You can go home if you want to" Said the doctor softly, as Chloe finally slowly her eyes fluttered open, her mum gasped.
"Chloe!" Cried her mum, giving her a soft hug. Chloe looked around feeling dizzy, as she lay there.
"I'm in hospital" Thought Chloe suddenly, sitting up quickly, wondering about Bess, she looked at her mum and dad, glopping feeling tears filling her eyes trying to hold them back.
"How's Bess?" Asked Chloe trying to be brave but her voice sounded shaky, her mum shook her head sadly, tears falling quickly down her face, her dad had to answer for her.
"Chloe, Bess ran into a road, a truck was coming. She galloped straight towards it. There was nothing the vet could do to save her.......Chloe we had to put her to sleep." Said her dad softly, stroking Chloe's hair, as she leaned onto her dad's shoulder, tears rolling down her cheeks as she cried on her dad. Her dad sat hugging her till all tears had gone, the Doctor had left the room so they could all talk.
"The doctor says your very lucky to not have any broken bones, just cuts and bruises" Said her mum softly, Chloe just sat listening to her mum and dad, she left it was her fault that Bess got killed.
Chloe was discharged the next day as her dad picked her up taking her home, she hadn't spoken a word since the drive home. She got into the house walking up the stairs heading to her bedroom. She sat down on her bed looking around her room, posters, photo's of horses, ribbons, medals and trophes from horse shows. She cried into her pillow quietly, never wanting to come out of her room.
"I'm sorry Bess, I love you" Whispered Chloe hoping she could hear her, were ever she was. She looked up at the sound of knocking at the door, she wiped away her tears, as her door opened her mum looking in.
"Chloe, Samatha the new instructor is here to see you down stairs" Said her mum quietly, Chloe shook her head, she didn't want to see her or ride again.
"I dont want to see her!" Whispered Chloe, her mum sighed leaning on the door.
"She wants to help you Chloe, we have a surprise for you at the yard" Said her mum, she looked up, she jumped of her bed following her mum, down stairs seeing Samatha at the front door. Chloe grabbed her coat, pulling on her boots and followed her mum to her car. She didn't really want to stay at that stables after what happened with Bess, she thought she should move on. Chloe looked out the window as the car flashed passed many fields. They went passed a riding school and racing stables called " Champion". Chloe realized, where she could move to.
"Champion" Thought Chloe smiling.
