As Ty Baldwin Heartlands 17 year old lead stable hand walked out the front barn after muking out the last stall, and was just in time to see Amy attempt to jump Sky. As he came closer to the jump the rearedup and Amy fell of backwards and hit the ground with a thump.
"AMY!"yelled Ty as he dropped the wheelbarrow and ra twords the round ring and jumped over the fence and knelt down beside her head "Amy waske up! Amy? JACK!!!!"
"Ty what is it?" asked Jack as he came running out of the house
"Amy fell off of Sky while attempting to jump him I think she might just have the wind knocked out of her. Go and take her to the house I'll catch Sky and un-saddle him put him in his stall and be to the house as soon as I can." instructed Ty as he stood up and watched Jack pick Amy up and carry her to the house
"Here boy it's ok I'm not going to hurt you." But as Ty got closer Sky snorted and troted away. Ty turned his back on the Gray gelding and walked slowly to him. When he got close enough he grabed Sky's bridle and lead him out of the ring and to the house.
Ty walked into the weather beaten house and sees Amy on the couch sipping some tea.
"Amy, how are you feeling?" Ty asked.
"I'm fine. Thanks," Amy brushes off his concern. "Is Sky okay? I knew I was pushing him to hard?" Amy said.
"Amy, your being to hard on yourself. I even though he was ready for that jump." Ty said.
"Ty, I just knew he wasn't ready. I felt him tensing under me. I just don't understand why I didn't listen to him." Amy said, showing her disappointment in herself.
"We just need to learn from our mistakes, Amy." Ty said trying to comfort Amy. "He's waiting outside for you. You don't want to end on a bad note, do you?" Ty said, smiling at her. Cheering Amy up slightly, she got up to go back and work with Sky.
As Amy and Ty walked back to the barn and saw sky in his stall still fully tacked.
"Hey fella how you doin'?"asked Amy as she walked up to Sky. Sky nickered and Amy smiled because Sky had forgave her
"Well it looks like he's not mad at you any more!"said Ty with a grin
"I guess not." Amy said as Sky gave her a gentle nudge. "Lets go Sky." she hopped into the saddle near the mounting post.
Amy started out in a nice walk and then a trot "Lets finish off on a good note and at least canter around twice." She said and pushed her heals into Skys flanks and cantered smoothly. Amy let him canter around twice and then walked him out of the ring catching Ty's eyes as she walked by she smiled and quickly look away feeling the blood rise to her cheeks
"That was a good way to end the session." said Ty as Amy dissmounted and started to walk towards the barn.
"Yeah he didn't have any falter in his stride." Amy replyed as Ty came and walked next to her. "We should try to at least set up the jumps but have him trot and canter next to them so he can get over his fears. We'll do that for a few sessions and then mabey late next week we can try him over some real small jumps."
"Yeah, I was thinking that too. I guess great minds think alike." Ty said making Amy blush. He noticed, but he didn't do anything to rub it in Amy's face. Amy rubbed down Sky and gave him a treat then walked with Ty to the house for some lunch. They walked into the house discussing that they should do trotting poles then jumps. Amy fixed them each a sandwich while Ty poured some tea for them.
This was in the other one I had started but no one ever finished it! Please lets keep this going! It's really getting good!
