Waxing sounds awfully painful.
I actually took some time and looked our little "problem" up online and if the red, itchy, painful bumps get bad enough, it can turn into an infection called Pseudofolliculitis Barbae(PFB for short). That's definitely something you want to keep your eyes out for. You don't want those red bumps to start swelling or scarring. So not only is it embarrassing, but it is also dangerous. You know how sensitive that part of your body is. You don't want it to get infected.
They're caused when the shaved hair gets trapped inside the follicle or grows back into the skin. Which sound awfully painful. And it is. It mostly occurs with girls that have curly hair(which is what I have).
A couple of tips are shaving downwards instead of upwards. Shaving upwards is pulling against the hair and skin. Shaving downwards won't be as close of a shave, but it also won't cause those red bumps.
Another thing is keeping the razor blade
sharp and
clean. When it isn't sharp it obviously won't work properly. And keeping it clean is important so it doesn't rust, which again, leads to the blade having to be sharp.
I looked at products online and one in particular caught my eye. It's called Bikini Zone and I guess you can find it anywhere. You can also go to their website,
www.BikiniZone.com.
I also get these red bumps on my legs, and armpits. So now I'm trying to find one for my legs. Now that I saw these bumps can lead to an infection, I really don't want them.
Next time I go to Wal-Mart with my mom, I'm going to look at the products they have. I told my mom about how the red bumps can lead to an infection, but she only knows that they're on my legs and armpits. Obviously I'll have to tell her they're "somewhere else" too.
But that's what I found out. I thought I'd share that with you guys. Maybe that helped a little? I know it sure helped me. If I find any other products, I'll keep you guys updated.
